Nobody can get enough of remote controls! Once you watch this video this is one remote control you will be able to do without. In this video I'm a-gonna show you how to link any additional remote control devices you have in your Mazda vehicle for opening garage doors, security gates, or turning on lights in your home.

The home link controls can be found on the rearview mirror, overhead console or the driver's side visor in most Mazdas.

First step, please turn off the engine. Make sure nobody is around the device which the remote device controls. If you have pets be sure that they're not using your garage door as their favorite spot. I didn't check and had to rename my parrot "Lefty".

Press and hold the two outer home link buttons until the red light in-between them flashes, then release both buttons. This clears the home link's memory and readies it for programming and that means it's go-time!

To activate, point the remote control device at the home link system approximately one to three inches away. At the same time, press the activation button on the remote device and the home link button you wish to use for that device's function.

Hold both buttons down until the red light changes from flashing slowly to flashing rapidly. This could take up to 90 seconds. You have successfully programmed your home link when the light flashes rapidly.

All you need to do now is press and hold the button corresponding to the appropriate remote control release when the device is activated. You are now all set.

If you have other devices that you wish to connect, simply repeat steps two through four.
